ISC Abu Dhabi to organise Koosamma Shetty Memorial Badminton Tournament

Abu Dhabi: India Social and Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi (ISC), the largest socio – cultural organization for the Indian community in the Middle East and Big Ticket Abu Dhabi Duty Free join hands to host the 1st Abu Dhabi Open Badminton League Tournament at the Indian Social Centre. The event is Co-Sponsored by NMC Group.
ISC facilitates its members with Badminton, Squash, Tennis, Table Tennis, Snooker, Swimming pool and with a high profile Gymnasium. With a current strength of 2,300 members (8000 including dependants) and with its state -of the -artbuilding spanning over an area of 90,000 Sq. Ft, India Social & Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi is the largest recreational Centre in the Middle East for the Indian community and enjoys an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill. This premier socio-cultural organization was established in the year 1967. Social services, Cultural activities and Sports have been incessant achievements throughout 46 years of its existence by associating the cultural diversities and traditions of UAE and India, being the main objective.

The centre by its own pride and dignity, has always been recognized as a unique platform for all highly reputed Corporate, wherein the benefits rewarded are mutually.

Mr. Ramesh V.  Panicker, the Hon. President of ISC announced the launching of the BIG TICKET ABU DHABI.

DUTY FREE PRESENTS 1st ISC – Koosamma Shetty Memorial UAE Open Badminton League Tournament 2015. The badminton section in ISC Abu Dhabi itself has strength of more than 700 members, utilizing the facility on a regular basis. The badminton courts in ISC are of International Standards and proud to publicize them as the best in G.C.C.

Hon. President, Mr. Ramesh V. Panicker and the Managing Committee thanked Dr. B.R. Shetty, CEO & Vice Chairman NMC Healthcare for having consented to institute a Trophy  in memorial of his late  mother Smt. Koosamma Shetty.

The highlight of this privileged tournament is that the League match is open to all U.A.E residents. We expect the UAE top players from various nationalities will show their skills and professionalism.  We expect 10 top clubs of UAE will take part ISC Big Ticket Abu Dhabi Duty Free UAE Open Badminton Tournament. Hon. General Secretary Mr. M.A. Salam said that the main objective of this Tournament, to inspire the spirit of the game irrespective of Nationalities and to bring them together as relations at one and only India Social and Cultural Centre.  Hon. Sports Secretary Mr. George remarked that the overall participation is expected to reveal a show worthy of excellent skills combined with high endurance levels, and the goal to attain the championship under the roof of ISC, Abu Dhabi. It is a great opportunity for all the Badminton lovers around U.A.E. to witness this big sporting event that will be starting from 9th October to 23rd October 2015. The total Cash prize is estimated at AED 40,000.

The meeting was chaired by Hon. President Mr. Ramesh V. Panicker. Along with  Hon. Gen. Secretary Mr. M.A. Salam, Hon. Sports Secretary Mr. George Varghese, Hon. Asst. Sports Secretary Mr. Mohd. Younus Usman, Tournament Coordinators Mr. A.M. Nizar, Mr. R. Rakesh and Ms. Sheryl representing Abu Dhabi Duty Free the main sponsor and  Mrs. Seema Shetty Executive Director BRS venture the facilitator of the Tournament were present.
