Karnataka forest, and ecology minister Ramanath Rai felicitated in Qatar

Doha-Qatar, Feb 12: Karnataka communities union felicitated honorable Karnataka forest, environment and ecology minister Ramanath Rai at Ashoka Hall, Qatar. The eminent seven communities hailing from Karnataka such as KSQ, Tulukoota, MCC, Billawas Sangha Qatar, Bunts Sangha Qatar, KMCA and SKMWA joined together to felicitate the minister. The felicitation program started with the welcome and keynote address by KSQ president Deepak Shetty.

Bunts Sangha Qatar president Ravi Shetty briefly explains about the political and social activities done by Ramanath Rai during his political tenure. Ravi shetty also added that Ramanath Rai is belonging to the aristocratic Bellipady clan. Rai entered politics when he became a member of the Indian National Congress.

He has represented the Bantwal constituency of the Karnataka legislative assembly since 1958. In his long career as a legislator in the Karnataka assembly he has served as minister holding various portfolios.”

The felicitation ceremony was presided over by Congress leader, Member of COIR board TM Shaheed along with MCC president Sunil D’silva, KMCA president Niyaz Ahmed, KSQ president Deepak Shetty, BSQ president Ravi Shetty, Tulukoota vice president Asmath Ali, SKMWA advisor committee members Abdul Majid, and Basheer on the dais. Ramanath rai was presented with a ‘Mysore Peta’ from Deepak Shetty and was draped with a shawl from Ravi Shetty. A memento was also presented behalf of all communities.

TM Shaheed also addressed the gathering and appreciated Rai for his political gesture. He opined that Karnataka government shall recognise the work of expertise contribution for unity and development of society.

Some of the questions were asked from audience to honorable minister and Rai has given cool and straight answers. On being asked comment on Aam Aadmi Party, he said “When common man doesn’t having any power he can promise and act like anything; but real quality of person will be seen when the power within his hand.

For asked suggestions to people who are misguided and attracted towards disbeliefs in the society, he replied, now a days plenty of fake news are spreading very fast. People should not believe those. Hard will be recognized everywhere and hard work only gain the success.

Further for the question about actions against deforestation and illegal acquisition of forest land, he told, the government of Karnataka concentrated on reserved forest. An illegal acquisition of forest land will be reported and strict action will be taken against them as per Supreme Court order. For a controversial issue of Niddodi Mega project, he clearly told that, central government clearly declare  there never be any project near Niddodi, so no use of making any issue or no use of making any protest. Niddodi people should take peaceful breath.

For a question of development of Mangalore airport, he replied Mangalore airport will be developed by aviation department and runway extension will be done in future. Meanwhile central ministers Veerappa Moily and Oskar Fernandez also representing from Karnataka and they will discuss about this matter with central aviation ministry.

For a question on protection of human habitant’s attacks from wild animals, he suggested that, now-a-days elephant habitant has increased. Couple of year back it was 3,000 elephants were there in counting now it is increased to 6000. Karnataka has outstand from wild animal preservation compared to other states. Already solar protection fences are implemented most of the places and government will give 50 percent subsidy on solar fencing if done by Individual. Meanwhile some places canals are provided to avoid passage of animals.

About solution of drinking water and Yettina project, he added that, government is planned to implement dams upon river flowing towards West Ocean. Many protest and voices will be raised against this project, but government will be taken out this project by scientifically and efficiently. And he also assured that, there would not be any effect from these projects to Dakshina Kannada district. These upcoming projects will be solved the requirement of drinking water problem in most of region of the state.

Divakar Poojary compared the event, while secretary of SKMWA Abdulla Monu proposed the vote of thanks.
