Karnataka Sangha Doha celebrates

Doha: The Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) a socio-cultural organization of Kannadigas which is affiliated with Indian Embassy in Doha celebrated ‘Karnataka Rajyotsava’ which was sponsored by Doha Bank at the Delhi Public School (DPS) auditorium, Al Wakrah on Friday November 15.

The event was inaugurated by lightning up the lamp, KSQ president along with other dignitaries and executive committee members did the honours.

A musical concert by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and his team was the main attraction of the event. He was felicitated by the KSQ president with a memento after which he captured the crowd with his mesmerizing voice.

The ‘Karnataka Rajyotsava’ was celebrated, in the presence of a large number of audience as various performances were showcased the Kannada sangha and other organizations.

The Tulu Koota performed a skit ‘Shri Shakthi Roopaka’, while MCC members danced to Entha Chenna houdu china ninagaagi nanu bande. Dance medley ‘Nrutya vaividya’ by Bunts Qatar and Kannadanthe mayavaadanu by Billawa Sangha wherein the displayed the culture of their home town.

Sunil Tapliyal, chancellor of Indian embassy in his presidential address, “Kannada resides in the heart of all Kannadigas and one should appreciate when you see Rajyotsava celebrated with togetherness. I appreciate all the Kannadigas for the love and togetherness they have for their home town.”
B R Laxman Rao, the renowned poet was awarded the “Kannada Samman” Award, and was felicitated by president Deepak Shetty and Sunil Tapliyal.

After receiving the award he said, “I am thankful to Karnataka Sangha Qatar for giving me this award. All Kannadigas must come together for the betterment of Karnataka no matter where they reside.”
The Sri Gandha Samarana Sanchike was also released by the KSQ executive and advisory committee members.
KSQ president Deepak Shetty delivered the welcome speech while Dr Kumar compered the event. The annual report was presented by Mahesh Gowda and vote of thanks was delivered by the cultural secretary Madhu H K.

Tarun Basu, ICC president, Nagesh Rao, vice-president, Mahesh Gowda, general secretary, Raj Kumar, president of Kannada Sangha Bahrain, Ravi Shetty, philanthropist and president of Bunts Qatar, MCC, Tulu Koota, Billawa Sangha, KMCA president and past president of KSQ and Anil Basagi, president of Kannada Sangha from Muscat were present on the occasion.

The program was organized under the initiative of the Karnataka Sangha president Deepak Shetty and other office-bearers. The event was sponsored by Doha Bank while Al Muftah Contracting Company, Structural Qatar W.L.L and AL MA Aluminum and Steel Company were the event partners with Media
