MCC beguiles Doha by ‘Dobazo 2014’

Doha, April 27: The annual mega event ‘Dabazo’ was hosted by Mangalore Cricket club (MCC) on Friday 25th April, at Al Gazal Club Doha.

The live wire of this event were the renowned local singer, composer actor Norbert Periera and his wife Nancy Pereira, Konkani Dream Boy Rony D’Cunha, Melody Queen Anitha D’Souza and local talents of Qatar Naveen/Preema Pinto, Rupert Lobo, Vincent/Nina Fernandes, Harry Correa, Alphonse D’ Silva and Eva Wilma Pinto enthralled the audience with beautiful Konkani numbers.

The blissful moments of the evening began with the Konkani number ‘Mai Bhas konkani’. Likewise, ‘Do Re Me Fa’,‘Sapna Sundari’ numbers were sung by Norbert Pereira and he conquered the gathering throughout the show. A resident of Qatar for the past three decades, Nobert as a youngster was a talented singer winning numerous singing competitions including the coveted Konkani Natak Sabha annual singing competitions for   the solo and duet categories at the Don Bosco Hall, Mangalore.  Norbert has shared stage with renowned singers like Wilfy Rebimbus, Henry D’Souza, Melvyn Peris, Claud D’Souza and has presented his own shows in Mangalore, Mysore and Kuwait and has released 5 music albums. Norbert’s wife Nancy Pereira a trained classical dancer and choreographer accompanied Norbert on numbers ‘Dees Ami Ashello’ and ‘Sangeetha’.

‘Prithvair Kalok’, ‘Meera Meera’, ‘Margarita’ sung by Rony D’Cunha kept the audience on their toes and set the right mood for dancing. Rony After successfully establishing himself as a good singer in Mangalore he is now considered as one of the best Konkani singers in the Gulf.

Foot tapping music was provided from Winner of best music arranger and music composer Roshan D’ Souza along with Richard Monteiro on Keyboard, Sachin Sequeira on Drum and Pradeep Menezes on Base guitar. Actor-Comedian of the “Bale Telipule” fame NelluPermanur and team Shawn Rodrigues, Naveen Dsouza, Sunil Crasta, Della Rego and Naveen Permannur entertained the audience with their rib tickling comedy.

The Dance “Ami Tharnate” from Young Boys Glen Carlo, Savious Crasta, Kiran Vas, Naveen Permannur, Ashrian Dsouza was applauded by the audience. The another dance “Meera Meera” performed from talented dancers Christine Lobo, Mishal Lobo, Karen Correa, Jyothi Gomes, Delita Roche was put into audience to dance on the floor. Both Dances were choreographed by talented dancer Vijaya D’souza. The Dance from small children for the Konkani song “Sethkar” was choreographed by Sweta.V.B and performed by Alistair Crasto, Chirstle pinto, Royston crasto, ruth quadros, Bresly danthi, Amelia Martis, Clarissa Pinto, Ashton D’souza was entertaining to the audience.

On this occasion a small program was conducted, wherein Sunil D’silva the president of MCC welcomed the gathering. Captain Ramanan Ravi Kumar, the first defence attaché at the Indian Embassy in Qatar was the chief guest. To mark the occasion ‘Sugandh’, a souvenir was released by the chief guest. Ronald Saldanha the vice-president and founder member Jerald Dmello were present on the dais. The stage programme was ably compered by Reena Castelino, the lady advisor of the club.  Talented Prabha Rego conducted the felicitations ceremony of the artistes, The guest of honor Rev Fr Anand Castelino, the spiritual director of the Konkani Community at the Church of our Lady of Rosary felicitated the artists.

The Master of ceremony Roshan D’ Silva along with Riana Pinto, Dephney Lobo, Prakash Noronha, Patrick Dsouza, Melvyn Pinto, Della Rego, Leroy D’lima and Sunitha D’souza coordinated the whole event.
