Monthi Fest celebrated with gaiety at St Joseph’s Cathedral, Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi : Monthi Fest was celebrated with great devotional fervour  by hundreds of faithful  at the St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Abu Dhabi on September 12.  People both young and old offered flowers to the grotto of Mother Mary.

Rev. Fr Valerian Fernandes blessed the newly harvested paddy corns. The little  children showered flowers on the grotto of Mother Mary and sang the traditional hymn ” Moriek Hogollxiam ” led by the Konkani Choir.

The mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Valerian Fernandes. Rev. Fr. Clifford Fernandes, the visiting priest, in his homily stressed on family values and on the role of a mother in the overall well being and  happiness of the family.

The day also marked  the birthday of Fr Valerian, Parish Priest. He was  heartily wished on the occasion on behalf of all parishioners.

Over 3000 people  attended the mass. The feast celebrations were organised by the Konkani Cultural Organisation under the leadership of its President Bennette D’Mello. The choir was led  Ms. Leena Fernandes and Wilfred Fernandes.

 On behalf of the KCO, snacks and juice were served to the gathering.
