Dubai, May 26: The 12th anniversary of Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah was celebrated at the Dubai Grand Hotel Auditorium with grandeur recently to coincide with the prestigious Mayura Award Presentation ceremony. The qualifying round of the Chilly Willy Mayura Cup duet dance was also held on the occasion.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Praveen Shetty, Director of Fortune Group of Hotels, Harish Sheregar, Proprietor of Acme Building Material, March Dennis, patron of Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah, Ashok Purohit, renowned astrologer and Vaastu expert, Shashikanth Kanangi, Secretary of the Sangha and other dignitaries by lighting the traditional lamp.
Devadas Kapikad, renowned theatre personality who is bestowed the title Telikeda Bolli, was also present as a chief guest and wished success for the programme.
Rohini Ananth, renowned danseuse, Dr Innahuda Rihan and Praveen Prabhakeran, renowned dance choreographer of Dubai, were the judges for the dance event.
Media friends, Harish Sheregar of Gulf Kannadiga, Vinay Nayak of Namma TV and Ramesh Suvarna of V4 News were also honoured.
Three pairs from each of the four age categories have entered the final rounds. The finals will be held at Indian Association, Sharjah auditorium on June 20.
