Excise officials in Raichur conducted a significant raid on a house in Korwar Oni, situated on Gadwal Road, uncovering a large stash of illicit liquor and CH powder. The property, owned by Gajji Veeresh, was found to contain 630 litres of illegal liquor, ₹22,520 in cash, and other materials used in the illegal trade. Both Veeresh and his wife, Urukundamma, have been booked in connection with the case.
This is not the first instance of Veeresh’s involvement in the illegal liquor trade. In a previous operation, excise officials raided the same house, seizing illicit liquor and filing charges against him. Despite being caught earlier, Veeresh resumed his unlawful activities, prompting authorities to take decisive action once again.
The case highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in curbing the illegal liquor business in the region. Repeat offenders like Veeresh undermine efforts to eliminate such activities, emphasizing the need for stricter measures and enhanced vigilance.
