Channapatna: Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has clarified the speculation regarding his son, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, contesting the by-election from Channapatna. The by-election was necessitated by HD Kumaraswamy’s resignation after being elected as MP from Mandya.
Addressing the rumors, Kumaraswamy stated that his son, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, will not be running as a candidate for the Channapatna Assembly constituency by-poll. He mentioned that Nikhil has been deeply affected by his previous two electoral defeats and, therefore, will not contest in this election.
Regarding the alliance candidate for the by-election, Kumaraswamy suggested that former MLA CP Yogeshwar might run, or a candidate from the JD(S) could be nominated.
