In a recent event at Bairapattana in Channapatna, Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy addressed the media with surprising comments about the upcoming by-election. He announced that both parties are expected to nominate a consensus candidate for the election.

The minister expressed that despite his ongoing conflict with C.P. Yogeshwar, they have now reconciled and consider each other like family members. He emphasized that it is essential for BJP and JDS workers to come together after decades-long conflict in the constituency.

Kumaraswamy also made remarks about past events, stating that efforts were made to sideline him once he gained a position in the central government.

Expressing his dissatisfaction over recent election outcomes, he acknowledged the support from Ramanagara district where he found his political foothold; however, he also voiced grievances with local Muslim leaders. The minister highlighted certain past incidents involving protests and vote-splitting within Muslim communities during elections in Ramanagara.

He urged local voters not to be swayed by short-term rewards such as cookers and sarees handed out around voting time, but instead to recognize the work done for their community’s development.

Kumaraswamy’s statements have sparked debate among political circles as he seeks reconciliation between rival factions while addressing historic discord within local communities ahead of an important electoral contest.
