After 15 years on the run, accused arrested in Shivamogga by Padubidri police

An accused who had been evading arrest for 15 years has been apprehended by the Padubidri police from the Shivamogga district.

Ramesh, a resident of Shikaripura in Shivamogga, had been implicated in theft cases registered at the Padubidri police station in 2010. Following his release from jail, he failed to appear before the court, leading to the issuance of LPC warrants against him in two cases.

On January 14, 2025, based on information from constable Madhusudan, a former officer of the station, head constable Prakash and constable Mohammed Khaji from Padubidri police station successfully tracked the accused to Shikaripura taluk in Shivamogga.

The accused has now been arrested and presented before the court for further proceedings.
