Shimoga: Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. has expanded its flagship sustainability initiative, ‘Bottles for Change,’ to Kuvempu University in Shimoga. The program launch included signing a Letter of Association (LOA), an awareness session on plastic waste management, and the installation of benches and bins made from recycled plastic on the university campus.

The event also featured a technical panel discussion on the theme “Waste to Wealth,” exploring the role of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and circular economy principles. The discussion was chaired by Prof. J. Narayana, Chairman of the Department of Environmental Science, with distinguished speakers including Shri Mahesh K Patil, Chairman of the Goa State Pollution Control Board, Dr. Hina Kousar, and Shri K. Ganesh, Director of Sustainability & Corporate Affairs at Bisleri. Moderating the session was Shri Sujeet Kumar Dongre, Chairman of the Union Territory Level Expert Appraisal Committee for Dadar & Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu.

K. Ganesh emphasized Bisleri’s commitment to sustainability, stating, “Our partnership with Kuvempu University reflects the immense potential of young minds in driving sustainable change. Through this initiative, we aim to foster a nationwide movement for responsible plastic waste management.”

Prof. Dr. Yogendra K. expressed gratitude, adding, “This collaboration inspires our students to adopt and champion sustainable practices for a better future.”

As part of the ‘Bisleri Greener Promise’ campaign, the company aims to install 1,000 recycled plastic benches across India, reinforcing its pledge to sustainability and responsible growth.
