Shivamogga : In an effort to address malnutrition among children, the School Education and Literacy Department has decided to distribute eggs six days a week, excluding holidays. Minister Madhu Bangarappa announced that this initiative will be implemented within a month.
Speaking at a ceremony where laptops were distributed to high-achieving SSLC students, Bangarappa highlighted the government’s efforts to improve nutrition and education. “Egg distribution has been increased from one day a week to two, and now it will be distributed every day up to class 10,” he said.
The minister also addressed the shortage of teachers, mentioning that 45,000 guest teachers have been recruited, with plans to hire an additional 10,000 this year. Furthermore, the state aims to renovate 1,600 school rooms and construct new buildings as needed. The goal is to educate 10 lakh students in KPS schools, with plans to open 1,000 new schools.
