Kapikad team’s Abatara is all set to release on August 18

Mangaluru: Abatara, the Tulu film, which was made during Covid times will hit the screens on August 18 on Krishna Janmashtami. The film, which has been made by noted Theatre Director Devadas Kapikad and his son Arjun Kapikad during the Covid – 19 pandemic, is all set to release now.

Arjun Kapikad will be playing the lead role in the film. For the first time, he is also directing the film. Interesting fact is that even before the release of the film, the team has arranged for the screening of the film for children of orphanages in Mangaluru, Moodabidri, Puttur, Udupi, Padubidre, Kinnigoli, Gurupura and Kulashekhar. On Tuesday August 16 and Wednesday August 17, more than 800 children will watch the film at Big Cinemas near KSRTC.

Devadas Kapikad has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film which has a completely humorous storyline. Gaana Bhat, the actress is playing the female lead for the first time under the banner of Bolli Movies. Noted playback singer Nakul Abhyankar has composed music for the film. Interestingly, Nikhil Salian, a graduate student, is the producer and Viraj Attavar is the co-producer.
