Kambala link to movies
“Srinivasa Gowda, who appeared in a scene driving a bull in Baahubali 2, was an A-grade runner from Kambala at that time. He is one of the 10 runners from the Undivided Dakshina Kannada District to be trained as Kambala jockey. The Gowda, who tamed the bulls in the most systematic way, was selected for the scene. Srinivasa Gowda will be seen playing the role of a Kambala runner in Birda Kambala and Veera Kambala, which are in the shooting stage. In all the three films, he is seen as a runner.
“It is much more difficult to play a role in a movie than to drive buffaloes. It was due to the cooperation of Tulu film personalities like Naveen D. Padil and Bhojaraja Vamanjoor that it became easier to play the role. The main reason why I am involved in the film industry today is the impact Kambala has had on me,” says Srinivasa Gowda.
