Bengaluru: Late Amar Alva was one of the dons of 1990s who made his presence felt in the underworld, operating from Mangaluru.

Now a biopic on Alva is likely to be made in Kannada. None other than Rishab Shetty is said to be playing the role of the don, informed sources.

“There is no clarity. But Shetty has liked the screenplay, which was prepared at the time of lockdown,” added sources.

As far as the sensation murder case of Alva is concerned, it was said that reformed underworld don Muttappa Rai, who passed away recently had also played a role in Alva’s murder, which was never proved.

Alva was shot dead on July 14, 1992, in front of a Super Bazar near Milagres Church in Mangaluru. Eight persons, who were with Alva at that time were injured.

One Ashok Shetty was named as the accused no-1 and he was charged under the provisions of TADA.

However it was later quashed by a court. Eight others were also named in the chargesheet and all have been acquitted. The case went on till 2017.
