‘Women should overcome challenges’ says Sheetal Shetty

Mysuru: TV anchor turned film director Sheetal Shetty called upon women to develop ability to overcome challenges to emerge successful in the film industry, that also has opportunities aplenty for women.

Shetty was addressing the gathering during the valedictory of a workshop on film-making organised by Dasara Film Sub-committee at Rani Bahadur Auditorium, Manasagangotri in the City on Saturday September 24. In the three-day workshop, the nuances related to film making, and direction have been taught by the resource persons. The participants should take a step forward in applying their knowledge in cine making, urged Sheetal Shetty who made a debut with ‘Window Seat’ as Director.

“Women should shed inferiority and involve themselves in films. Most importantly they should try their hands even in the dynamic wings of cinema. They should better understand that cinema is not just for fashion, said Sheetal Shetty.

The short films were screened and the best among them were awarded.The short film titled ‘Namma Police’ enacted by Pradeep Kumar and produced by Santosh Kumar won first prize, while ‘Arya Vartha’ was adjudged second.

C M Mahadevaiah, Kiran Jayaramegowda, Prakash Patel, Honnalli Venkatesh, Uddith Gowda, Deputy Special Officer of Dasara Film Sub-Committee R. Shesha and Member Secretary and Assistant Director of Information Department T. K. Harish were present.
