Happiness need not be dependent on environmental factors. We can learn how to be cheerful most of the time through mental imagery. His Holiness the Dalai Lama and psychiatrist Howard Cutler worked together to create The Art of Happiness.

The book connects the Dalai Lama’s opinions on many topics with Cutler’s personal and educational experiences on them. The Art of Happiness is a guidebook for Westerners on Eastern spiritual practises. This book explores many sides of the life experiences, including how to deal with general problems and have a happy life. Additionally, how to maintain your coolness in the face of intense pressure. Both success and failure won’t result in lengthy happiness or sorrow for you. We all reach our basic happiness sooner or later.

The creation of affection and connection with other people is a key path to happiness. You’ll never feel unloved if you always look for what you share in common with people. Negative thoughts and feelings are baseless in reality. Due to these imperfections, we are unable to view things clearly. We are frequently closer to the genuine nature of the environment and how we could be consistently when we are in good state.
