Eating while distracted is a thing that many people do often, whether it’s working through lunch in front of the laptop or chewing on chips while catching up on your favourite TV show. This behaviour can lead to overeating even though it may seem harmless. Try to put distractions like phones, computers, and newspapers away or turn them off. You can avoid overeating by focusing on your food while you’re eating.

Beans, vegetables, oats, and fruit are a few foods high in fibre that can help keep your body feeling full for longer and prevent the need to overeat. Get more fibre-rich meals to help your body feel more full for a while. According to studies, this might reduce the tendency to overeat.

Many people stop eating when trying to lose weight in the belief that this will reduce the number of calories they consume. Regular meals daily have been shown in studies to reduce hunger and total food intake. You might overeat later in the day if you skip meals. Instead, focus on eating healthy, nutritious food to keep your body fulfilled.

According to studies, keeping track of your eating habits may improve weight loss. It will also help you in becoming more mindful of your routines.

Eating with family and friends who have similar health goals as you will help you stay focused and reduce your risks of overeating.
