India is the land of agriculture. Almost all people here depend on agriculture which has so many ups and down. Farmers usually face a lot of problems when it comes to agriculture. Each day many inventions and new technologies are found which allow farmers to resolve their problems. So let us find out about important developments in this field.

1. Cropin technology

Founded by a software developer from Bangalore, this startup offers agricultural enterprises the technology and know-how to develop a more smarter and secure food supply for consumers all over the world. With an Android mobile app connected, Cropin provides information on a cloud-based platform. It is known as Smart Farms, and it enables large food corporations to monitor the growth of crops on farms across the nation with information about the crop’s characteristics and the environment in which it is grown. This technology enables corporations to interact with farmers, remotely monitor farms, and make each crop transparent and traceable. By providing insights into productivity and harvest estimates, it also helps farmers adopt international agricultural techniques and increases production.

2. Eruvaka Technologies

Eruvaka Technologies is a company with headquarters in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Its goal is to speed up the adoption of technology in aquaculture, a sector where farmers encounter challenges because there is a lack of adequate technology to monitor and manage water quality. Eruvaka Technologies creates solar-powered floating buoys that measure several water characteristics, such as oxygen levels, temperature, and pH range, vital for the growth and survival of fish and shrimp, to assist farmers in monitoring aquaculture ponds. The gathered data is stored in the cloud and sent to specific clients via an Android app, SMS, phone call, or the internet.

3. Skymet

The main provider of agri-risk management and weather monitoring services in India is Skymet. Their website claims that they are specialists in calculating, forecasting, and managing climate risk to agriculture, hence minimising losses brought on by unfavourable weather. Skymet’s weather website, which was created to help farmers, provides services like weather forecasts, crop insurance, and agri-risk management. They assert that reliable measurement and forecasting of yield at the village level for any crop can assist farmers to prepare for drought or heavy unseasonal rainfall and help them take the necessary preventive steps.

4. Mitra

Mitra A firm with roots in Nashik called MITRA (Machines, Information, Technology, Resources for Agriculture) aspires to increase mechanisation on horticultural farms by utilising R&D and top-notch farm machinery.

Air blast sprayers were created for fruits and vegetables, especially grapes and pomegranates in particular. They are used to add hormones that aid in crop growth and require less time and manual labour than other methods.
