It’s an uncertain situation for everyone. With a crisis of medical supplies and battling through getting the right facilities, the COVID – 19 has indeed hit our country massively. But here is an example of a doctor from Bengaluru who has come up with a clinic that provides free treatment. It’s not in a hospital or not in a single confided place: It’s one of a kind. It’s healthcare on wheels!

This Bengaluru-based car-turned-clinic was first initiated by Dr. Sunil Kumar Hebbi, through his own Matru Siri Foundation focusing on the healthcare facilities and the needs of the people who are in trouble. This can be done instantly by leaving a message on Whatsapp to get the required facility to your doorstep.

This doctor has treated more than 200 patients in the span of three weeks, giving more preference to the patients who fall under the category of senior citizens, or are facing mild symptoms of the disease. The clinic contains all the necessary pieces of equipment: such as an oxygen concentrator, thermometer, ventilator, etc

Dr. Sunil started the initiative of the Mobile Clinic 13 years ago, which is now more effective during the COVID-19 crisis. Sharing his thoughts, Dr. Sunil says, “Once while I was traveling through the Hosur Road, a road connecting Bangalore to Tamil Nadu, I helped a man by providing him first aid facilities. I later admitted him to the nearby hospital for further treatment. Being the only child, his mother called and thanked me for saving his life. That’s when I thought about adding more facilities in the trunk of my car and started this Mobile Clinic.”

These medical facilities were brought to Dr. Sunil through his friends around the country and internationally, to initiate it further. He also says that they have given more importance to old-age homes, slum areas, and construction workers at the time of such a crisis.

“Every consultation is based on the phone calls we receive and later going to their respective houses. Every week, we focus more on the masses of the slum areas, with consultation, basic medicines, pulse, oximeter, and other facilities.”

Dr. Sunil Kumar also shares an incident that portrays that a helping hand would always make a huge difference. “We have an anonymous donor who gives us food packages. Every morning, there are around 30 food packages near my car. This is how we can grow by receiving tiny support for the cause.”

It’s been 34 days since the Mobile Clinic for COVID-19 care has been established, and he has already treated 300 patients so far! The doctor also says that this was given much prominence during the first wave, but was more required during the second wave of the pandemic. Dr. Sunil says, “People should receive primary care facilities. As they say, ‘Prevention is better than cure. This would help us to get more recovery rate and help the situation get better”

Join hands with Dr. Sunil Kumar Hebbi to provide Medical Care to rural people and slum dwellers through his Mobile Car Clinic in this Covid Crisis.
