As the clock is ticking to welcome the New Year 2022, the world prepares itself to bid adieu to 2021.
This year, Google has released a New Year eve doodle on December 31 to celebrate the end of 2021. As the clock strikes twelve on Friday December 31, the doodle went live, along with confetti, candy, and lights.
There is also a candy popper with 2021 written and it appears that it is ready to pop as soon as the clock strikes midnight on January 2022.
The other letters of the word ‘Google’ are likewise colourfully embellished with fairy lights in the doodle.
The letter ‘G’ has a party cap on top of it. A new page will open with confetti all over your screen as soon as you click on it. Look for an animated confetti cone on the right side of the page. When you click it, confetti will spread across your screen once again.
The Google Doodle, on the other hand has not come with many descriptions this time.
“That’s it for 2021 — Happy New Year’s Eve!” Google wrote in its archive of doodles detailing the new design.
Last year Google Doodle had a ticking clock waiting to ‘ring in the New Year’ on its homepage.
The coronavirus pandemic in 2021 wreaked havoc on the planet, causing many waves of illnesses, hospitalisations, and millions of fatalities.
With a grim note, people, however are preparing to welcome the New Year 2022 with various restrictions in place, as the year comes to an end under the shadow of the new, highly transmissible Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
