RoundGlass Punjab FC, one of the rising clubs in Indian football won the I-League title of 2022-23 with one game to spare. The club has created history with their title win and they have been promoted to the top tier of club football in India.
An 18-year-old club, established in 2005 as Minerva Academy FC are now the best team in the I-League. They transitioned from Minerva Academy FC to Minerva Punjab FC in 2016 when they played in the I-League for the first time and then rebranded as Punjab FC in 2019.
In April 2020, RoundGlass Sports Pvt Ltd completed the acquisition of the club and now they’re RoundGlass Punjab FC.
The club has won two I-Leagues since their inception, the first was in the 2017-18 season and the most recent is the 2022-23 season. Their 4-0 win against Rajasthan FC booked their spot in the Hero Indian Super League 2023-24 season.
The two times champions also booked their spot in the Super Cup and their promotion into the ISL is a very big deal not just for the club, but also for the fans and Punjab as a whole.
