Australia have won the toss and decided to ask India to bat first in the final of the Cricket World Cup. Both India and Australia have chosen to go into the final with unchanged teams.
All roads have led to the 2023 World Cup final, where India and Australia will square off in a rematch of their 2003 summit match, following more than a month-long cricket festival. The Australians raised their hands in triumph many moons ago, but Sunday in Ahmedabad proved to be a very different story.
India has had an easy journey to the final, having defeated all opponents handily and going into the high-stakes match in Ahmedabad on a winning streak of ten games. India has an excellent chance of winning a third World Cup trophy because everything has come together at the perfect time, with their bowling operating like a well-oiled machine and their batters in excellent form.
Australia, meanwhile, had a less than ideal start to the tournament, losing their first two matches to India and South Africa. But since then, the Aussies have been on an undefeated streak of their own, winning 8 on the bounce and losing none. They exacted revenge on a spirited Proteas side in the semifinal and will be hoping to get their win back against India in the grand finale.
