Royal Challengers Bengaluru has appointed veteran wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik as their batting coach and mentor for the menโs team. Karthik, who recently retired after IPL 2024, returns to the RCB fold in a new role following his successful stint as a player. During his comeback in IPL 2022, Karthik became a fan favorite, excelling in the finisherโs role and amassing 796 runs across his last three seasons with the franchise.
RCB officially announced Karthikโs new role on their social media, urging fans to welcome him warmly. With a career spanning 180 matches across formats for India, Karthik scored 3463 runs and secured 172 dismissals, establishing himself as a reliable performer both behind the stumps and in the outfield. Despite missing out on selection for the 2024 T20 World Cup, Karthik remained a pivotal figure in the IPL, making 257 appearances and scoring 4842 runs at an average of 26.32.
