Kolar, Karnataka – June 18: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. has laid the foundation stone for futuristic sports infrastructure and implemented multiple CSR initiatives aimed at empowering Kolar city. The initiatives include the installation of 1,100 LED lights and the establishment of a Honda Centre of Excellence, benefiting the local community through various skill development programs.

Futuristic Sports Infrastructure

The foundation stone has been laid for a multipurpose stadium that aims to enhance long-term sustainability and promote health welfare among the local community. The stadium will feature robust boundary walls, a national-level running track, modern toilets, and a pavilion, expecting to benefit over 2,000 people locally.

Inauguration and Dignitaries

The Bhoomi Poojan ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Shri K.H. Muniyappa, Member of Parliament; Shri Srinivas Gouda and Ms. Roopa Shashidhar, MLAs of Kolar; Shri Manjunath, District Collector of Kolar; and Mr. Harbhajan Singh, Director, General & Corporate Affairs of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, along with senior officials from the City Municipal Council and media personnel.

Honda’s Commitment to CSR

Mr. Harbhajan Singh emphasized Honda’s commitment to social responsibility, focusing on empowering communities through skill development aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Honda Centre of Excellence at Kolar has trained thousands of youth, including women, in courses such as stitching, sewing, beauty, computer skills, 2-wheeler technician courses, and more specialized fields like Mig Welding, Beautician, and Electrician courses.

These initiatives aim to empower the residents of Kolar, enhancing their livelihood opportunities and contributing to local economic growth.
