India Women’s Team Wins Inaugural Kho Kho World Cup, Defeats Nepal 78-40

India’s women’s team made history by winning the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday, defeating arch-rivals Nepal 78-40 in a dominant performance. The victory was celebrated by a lively crowd as India sealed the inaugural title with an impressive all-around display.

Anshu Kumari and Chaithra were pivotal in India’s triumph, with Chaithra being named the Best Player of the Match for her stellar performance. The Indian women took control early in the match, with India scoring 14 points in the first turn, putting Nepal on the back foot. Skipper Priyanka Ingle played a key role in India’s attack, contributing multiple touch points and leading her team to a solid 34-point total by the end of Turn 1.

Although Nepal managed to regroup in Turn 2 with a few key eliminations, including a brief Dream Run, India quickly regained control, with Chaithra orchestrating a crucial Dream Run in Turn 4. India’s relentless attack continued, and they finished strong, scoring a massive 78 points, securing their historic victory.

India’s journey to the title included impressive wins over South Korea, Iran, and Malaysia in the group stages, a quarter-final victory against Bangladesh, and a semi-final triumph over South Africa.
