Hangzhou: India secured its sixth shooting medal at the Asian Games after Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won bronze in the women’s skeet team event on Wednesday.
The Indian trio combined for a score of 331 points to finish on the podium and add another medal to India’s tally at the shooting range.
Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Raiza Dhillon both recorded 111 points out of a possible 125, while Maheshwari Chauhan contributed 109 points to India’s overall score.
India adds sixth shooting medal
The bronze medal takes India’s shooting tally at the Asian Games to six medals.
The Indian shooting contingent now has four silver medals and two bronze medals from the range.
The women’s skeet team delivered India’s latest podium finish, with all three shooters contributing strongly to the combined score.
Parinaaz and Raiza lead India’s score
Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Raiza Dhillon were India’s top scorers in the team event, each registering 111 points.
Maheshwari Chauhan added 109 points, taking the team’s combined tally to 331.
In the skeet event, each shooter competes for a maximum of 125 points, making consistency across the three-member team crucial to the final standings.
The Indian team maintained a strong overall score to secure the bronze medal.
Another medal for India’s shooting contingent
The result adds to India’s growing medal haul in shooting at the Asian Games.
With four silver and two bronze medals now secured at the range, the shooting contingent has continued to make a significant contribution to India’s overall campaign.
The women’s skeet team’s bronze also gives Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal an Asian Games podium finish in the team competition.
India will look to add to its medal tally as more shooting events continue at the Games.
