Bhubaneswar : At the Kalinga Stadium on Saturday, Naveen Patnaik officially opened India’s largest and most advanced Sports Science Centre. This facility was established in collaboration with the foundation established by Abhinav Bindra, the country’s first individual Olympic gold medallist.
This all-inclusive facility, built to accommodate athletes from a variety of sports, is positioned to develop into a center for injury prevention, recovery, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement, meeting the needs of the region’s sporting talent as well as elite athletes from India.
This Sports Science Centre features specialised labs to ensure that athletes receive care and support tailored to their unique needs, cultivating their potential and propelling them toward excellence.

There is a special emphasis on para-athletes, and the equipment is made to meet their specific requirements. Advanced technologies like cryogenic therapy, anti-gravity weight-bearing, and sensory deprivation are also incorporated into the facility to speed up recovery and guarantee a prompt return to the field.
