The upcoming tenth season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL Season 10) is set to adopt a 12-city caravan format. Commencing on December 2, 2023, this season will allow enthusiasts of each franchise to observe their beloved stars in their hometowns later this year.
Anupam Goswami, who serves as the Head of Sports Leagues at Mashal Sports and holds the position of League Commissioner for the Pro Kabaddi League, shared his thoughts on the unveiling of the PKL Season 10 schedule.
He conveyed, “The popularity of kabaddi has grown significantly in India, evident by the success of the previous nine PKL seasons. With our milestone tenth edition, we’re eager to further nurture the sport and maintain our role as the platform that has fostered talent from around the globe, shaping the future of kabaddi. Undoubtedly, a legacy has been established, and we’re appreciative of both athletes and fans for their involvement in this remarkable journey. We assure a memorable tenth edition, a genuine celebration of the sport.”
Scheduled from September 8 to September 9, 2023, the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 Auction (PKL) will be hosted in Mumbai. In the following weeks, the league will share additional details about this historic season.
As the teams prepare for the PKL 10 player auction, a total of 84 players have been retained for Season 10. The Pro Kabaddi 2023 auction pool will encompass over 500 players, featuring domestic kabaddi players and those released from teams.
The auction pool encompasses the top eight teams from the Senior Nationals Kabaddi Championship over the last two seasons, along with members from PKL Seasons 8 and 9. Overseas players are also part of the auction pool. Additionally, 24 players from the finalists of the Khelo India University Games 2023 will be included.
Under the supervision and endorsement of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), Mashal Sports and Disney Star have cultivated the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) into one of India’s most successful sports leagues. This league has had a transformative impact on numerous kabaddi athletes in India and globally. Notably, it boasts the highest number of matches in any professional sports league in India.
