Karnataka CM to launch State Olympics 2025 in Mangaluru

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is set to inaugurate the ‘State Olympics 2025′ on January 17 at Mangala Stadium, Mangaluru. Organized by the Karnataka Olympic Association, the event will take place in Mangaluru and Udupi from January 17 to 23, announced Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M P.

This year’s games follow the previous edition hosted in Dharwad. Approximately 1,800 athletes are expected to compete in various sports in Mangaluru. The district administration has made arrangements to accommodate 2,500 participants, including athletes and officials.

Sports events will be hosted at multiple venues across Mangaluru. Basketball and netball matches will occur at Mangala Stadium, while Nehru Maidan will see action in football and kho-kho. Other events include fencing at US Mally Indoor Stadium, volleyball and handball at Mangala Stadium, swimming at Emmekere International Pool, badminton at Marena Indoor Stadium in KMC Attavar, and weightlifting at Ambedkar Bhavana. Combat sports like taekwondo and wushu will take place at Karnataka State Government Employees Hall in Hampankatte.

With an impressive lineup of sports and participants, the State Olympics promises to celebrate athletic excellence and community spirit in the coastal region.
