Karnataka: The Karnataka State Dragon Boat Team delivered an outstanding performance at the 14th National Dragon Boat Championship for Senior Men & Women and Junior Boys & Girls, held from January 6 to 9 at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Demonstrating exceptional teamwork, endurance, and technical skill, the Karnataka contingent secured a total of 11 medals, emerging as one of the top-performing teams at the prestigious national event.
The championship concluded successfully after the completion of 106 races, with participation from 17 states, involving approximately 1,150 players and nearly 200 technical officials. The scale and competitiveness of the event made it one of the largest national-level water sports championships conducted in the country.
Strong performance amid intense national competition
Facing stiff competition from leading water sports states, the Karnataka team displayed remarkable discipline and synchronisation across multiple categories and race distances. Their consistent podium finishes reflected months of rigorous training and strategic race execution.
