Dr. Pradeep, in his address, encouraged young students to stay physically active to lead a happier life as physical activity reduces stress and anxiety. He felt honored to be chosen as the chief guest for the day and mentioned that a few years ago, he was a sportsman sitting in front of the dais. As a cardiologist, he advised the young students to encourage their friends and family to undergo a complete health check to stay updated on their health. Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of FMCI, emphasized incorporating the spiritual aspect of wellness into a person’s growth, alongside the physical and mental aspects. Fair play and brotherhood are evident in sports, and it’s the duty of a sportsperson to uphold these values. Let’s unite in sports and unite the nation to be non-judgmental and nondiscriminatory.
The event brought together 350 young students from Medical, Dental, and Paramedical programs run by various Institutions/Colleges under RGUHS, Bengaluru, to participate in the shuttle badminton tournament at the indoor stadium. Over 53 men’s and 32 women’s teams will compete for trophies in various categories. Rev. Fr. Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator of FMMC, was seen instructing, guiding, and inspiring the participants. His meticulous planning, along with Mr. Chandrashekara, the Physical Education Instructor at FMMC, brought the entire event to fruition.
