He further appreciated Jasprit Bumrah’s significant role as a pacer. During the call, Modi expressed gratitude to coach Rahul Dravid for his efforts in shaping the team’s success.

Earlier, following India’s triumph in the ICC T20 World Cup, Modi had congratulated the Rohit Sharma-led team for their historic achievement. India clinched their second ICC T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final at Barbados.

In a subsequent video message, Modi conveyed congratulations on behalf of the nation, praising Team India’s performance that captured the hearts of 1.40 crore Indians. He emphasized the significance of India’s undefeated journey throughout the tournament, lauding their resilience and entertaining play.
