On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged citizens to support Indian athletes competing in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Addressing the nation through his monthly radio show, ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ PM Modi said, “The Paris Olympics has captivated the world. It offers our athletes a chance to make the nation proud and display our tricolor on a global stage. I urge you all to cheer them on. Cheer for Bharat.”

The Prime Minister also highlighted the achievements of Indian participants in the International Mathematics Olympiad. “Our team has excelled, ranking in the top five overall among participants from over 100 countries,” he noted. He mentioned the names of the standout students: Aditya Venkat Ganesh from Pune, Siddharth Chopra from Pune, Arjun Gupta from Delhi, Kanav Talwar from Greater Noida, Rushil Mathur from Mumbai, and Anando Bhaduri from Guwahati.

In a previous episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ PM Modi praised the Olympic-bound athletes for their dedication and extensive preparation. He noted that since the Tokyo Olympics, Indian athletes have participated in nearly 900 international competitions.

“Our athletes’ performance in Tokyo captured the hearts of every Indian,” PM Modi said. “They have prepared with immense commitment and have qualified in various events. Both the men’s and women’s table tennis teams are set to compete, and our female shooters are part of the Indian shotgun team. This year, they will also be competing in wrestling and equestrian events for the first time.”
