Rising Star Nandan Naik's Journey In Diving And Acrobatics

Mangaluru: Nandan Naik, a 17-year-old II PUC (science) student at St Philomena College, Puttur, is making waves as a promising diver from the coast. Representing Varanashi Swimming Academy (VSwim), Nandan is set to compete in the KSA State Diving Championship, a crucial selection trial for the national championships in Indore from July 7-11.

Nandan’s aquatic journey began eight years ago, introduced to water at a young age and formally coached since 2017 by Partha Varanashi. Inspired by acrobatics and fueled by his coach’s guidance, Nandan’s skills blossomed. His dedication led him to explore parkour and diving, excelling under the mentorship of professionals like Coach Delson and Vikas, a former national medalist.

Balancing academics with rigorous training, Nandan dedicates early mornings and evenings to swimming and diving practices, while weekends are reserved for specialized training at Varanashi Farm. Supported by his family and mentors, Nandan aims to pursue a career in aeronautical engineering while pursuing his passion for competitive diving.
