As Team India celebrated their historic triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, emotional messages poured in from fans, celebrities and families of the players. Among them was a heartfelt post by Sanju Samson’s wife, Charulatha Remesh, who proudly celebrated her husband’s remarkable performance in the tournament.

India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, securing their third T20 World Cup title and becoming the first team to successfully defend the championship.

Charulatha’s heartfelt message goes viral

Shortly after the victory, Charulatha took to Instagram and shared a warm message for her husband.

Posting a picture from the match celebrations, she wrote:
“My trophy holding his trophy. Just too grateful.”

The post quickly caught the attention of fans on social media, with many praising the couple’s supportive bond and celebrating Samson’s outstanding performance during the tournament.

In the photo, Samson appeared in his Team India jersey, while Charulatha wore a black polka-dot dress, both smiling proudly during the celebrations.

Who is Charulatha Remesh?

Charulatha Remesh was reportedly born on October 19, 1995, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

She completed her schooling at Arya Central School and later pursued a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mar Ivanios College. She also studied at the Loyola College of Social Sciences, where she completed postgraduate studies in Human Resources.

According to reports, Charulatha is an entrepreneur. Her father B. Ramesh Kumar is the chief news editor at Mathrubhumi, while her mother Rajshri Ramesh works as a government employee with LIC India.

College friendship that turned into love

Sanju Samson and Charulatha first met during their college days at Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram.

Their relationship reportedly began after Samson sent Charulatha a Facebook friend request, and their online conversations gradually blossomed into a relationship.

Despite Samson’s growing popularity in cricket, the couple chose to keep their relationship private.

They eventually married on December 22, 2018, in a small ceremony in Kovalam, attended by close family members and friends.

A special moment during the tournament

Earlier during the tournament, a touching moment between the couple had already captured the attention of fans.

After India’s Super Eight victory over West Indies, Samson was seen video-calling Charulatha during the post-match presentation at Eden Gardens, highlighting the strong support system behind the star cricketer.

With Samson delivering match-winning performances — including a crucial 89 in the final — the World Cup victory became an unforgettable moment not only for Indian cricket but also for the families who stood by the players throughout their journey.
