Shaurya Binu Wins Inaugural Mysuru Open With Stellar Final Round

Mysuru: Shaurya Binu secured a dramatic victory at the inaugural Mysuru Open, hosted by Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC), with a clutch performance on the final day. The 20-year-old golfer from Bengaluru delivered a remarkable five-under 65 to clinch the title by a single stroke. Binu’s victory earned him a prize of Rs 15 lakh.

Throughout the tournament, Binu showed exceptional consistency, carding three consecutive 64s before his final round. His total score of 23-under 257 marked his second title of the PGTI season. Fast-finishing Aman Raj, who shot a final round of 63, finished just behind with a total of 22-under 258. Bengaluru amateur Veer Ganapathy, who was tied for the lead with Binu going into the final day, struggled to a three-under 67, ending in third place with a total of 21-under 259.

Binu’s final round featured a series of strong performances, including birdies on the seventh, ninth, 11th, 13th, and 14th holes. Despite a lone bogey on the 12th, Binu’s superb play continued as he chipped in a crucial birdie on the 18th hole to secure the win. Reflecting on his victory, Binu expressed confidence in his game and excitement for the remainder of the season.
