Trishul Gowda, a standout athlete and student at St. Philomena College, has been selected to represent India in the 2024 National Lifesaving World Championship in Australia. Trishul, known for his prowess in swimming and a member of the college’s acclaimed swimming team, has earned this prestigious opportunity in the Men’s Athlete Category.
Scheduled from August 20 to September 8, the championship will see Trishul compete alongside international athletes in lifesaving sports, following rigorous training sessions in Chennai from August 5 to 15. This preparatory phase will be crucial as he hones his skills under the guidance of various experts.
Currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts, Trishul has garnered recognition for his exceptional swimming abilities and dedication to the sport throughout his tenure at St. Philomena College. His selection underscores his commitment and the culmination of intensive training provided by coaches Partha Varanasi, Nirup G R, Rohit Prakash, and Dixit Rao, who have been instrumental in shaping his success.
Trishul Gowda, son of Shiva Gowda and T. Nalini, has received accolades from the college principal for his achievement, reflecting pride within the institution and the local community.
