Mangaluru: Athletes from Uttara Kannada district put on exceptional performances in boxing on Day 4 of the Karnataka State Games-2025, held on Monday. Organized by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Karnataka Olympic Association, and the district administrations of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, the event saw several gold medals won by Uttara Kannada boxers.
Nikhil S Belagavakar clinched the gold in the Bantamweight category for men, while Pavan Siddi secured the top spot in the lightweight category for men. The women’s boxing events also saw success from the district, with Samantha Saver Siddi winning gold in the Bantamweight category, and Helenn Juje Siddi claiming gold in the Light Welterweight category.
In the Featherweight women’s category, Neha Matiyani Siddi added another gold for Uttara Kannada, and Samiyabanu Buddesab Patel triumphed in the Lightweight women’s category.
Other notable performances included Isa Khan from Bengaluru winning gold in the Welterweight men’s category, and Niveditha R from Shivamogga securing gold in the same event for women. Likith V and Harshavardhini N, both from Bengaluru, won gold in the Middleweight events for men and women, respectively. Amartya Rai from Bengaluru claimed gold in the Heavyweight category for men, and C S Arjun Patel from Mysuru bagged the gold in the Light Heavyweight category for men.
In the shooting event, the Davanagere team clinched the gold in the 50m air rifle prone-team event for men, adding another highlight to the day’s competitions.
