New Delhi: Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wicketkeeper-batter Vansh Bedi has denied any involvement in the match-fixing and information-leak allegations currently surrounding Indian cricket, calling the claims linking him to the controversy “false and defamatory”. Bedi said his legal team is taking civil and criminal action against those responsible for spreading the allegations.
The controversy erupted after a recent Tehelka sting operation involving former Ranji Trophy cricketer Rachit Bhatia, whose claims about alleged match-fixing and access to confidential information triggered scrutiny around domestic and franchise cricket. An unnamed young player associated with CSK was referred to during the sting, following which Bedi’s name began circulating on social media.
Bedi, however, has categorically denied being the player referred to in the sting operation. His statement comes shortly after a separate development in the Delhi Premier League (DPL), where he reportedly informed the anti-corruption authorities after being approached in connection with alleged fixing.

The 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batter said he was not the individual mentioned by Bhatia during the Tehelka investigation and denied any involvement in match-fixing.

The controversy stems from an undercover investigation involving Rachit Bhatia, a former Ranji Trophy cricketer who represented Nagaland.

His domestic career has included a brief association with CSK and a T20 appearance for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

DDCA seeks BCCI guidance
