Vyshak Vijaykumar Gears Up for Maharaja Trophy with Confidence from IPL Experience

Vyshak Vijaykumar

As the Maharaja Trophy Karnataka State Cricket Association T20 approaches, Gulbarga Mystics’ vice-captain and pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar is ready to leverage his IPL experience to lead his team. Having played four matches for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2024, Vyshak made a notable impact with four wickets, demonstrating his game-changing abilities alongside stars like Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell.

Vyshak, reflecting on his time with RCB, praised the influence of training with top players like Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj. He noted, “Training with Virat Kohli can really impact you as a player. His work ethic and consistency are admirable, and I strive to emulate his confidence and precision.”

The 27-year-old fast bowler, who also boasts a first-class century, is committed to mentoring younger squad members. Drawing from advice he received from Siraj, Vyshak is focused on improving his game and supporting his team. Despite stepping down from captaincy, he is enthusiastic about collaborating with Devdutt Padikkal, who returns to the team this season. Vyshak is optimistic that Padikkal’s presence will strengthen their campaign after last year’s third-place finish.
