
Suriya & Trisha Reunite After 20 Years in RJ Balaji’s Karuppu
After a gap of two decades, Tamil cinema icons Suriya and Trisha Krishnan are reuniting on-screen in the much-anticipated film Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. Previously known as Suriya 45, the movie’s official title and intense first-look poster were unveiled on the occasion of Balaji’s birthday by Dream Warrior Pictures.
In their announcement on X (formerly Twitter), the makers shared: “With pride and excitement, we present the title of #Suriya45: Karuppu. A name that embodies the soul of our story, shaped by heart, spirit, and purpose. Wishing a very Happy Birthday to our director @RJ_Balaji.”
First Look & Poster Reveal
The poster showcases Suriya in a dark, brooding setting, clutching a weapon, hinting at an action-packed and emotionally driven narrative. His intense expression and the moody background suggest a character with depth and purpose.
All-Star Cast & Creative Team
Alongside Suriya and Trisha, the ensemble includes Sshivada, Swasika, Yogi Babu, Indrans, and Natty Subramaniam. RJ Balaji pens the script, with Rathna Kumar co-writing. Initially, A.R. Rahman was considered for music, but Sai Abhaynkkar has now been officially confirmed as the composer.
Suriya’s Comeback Trail
Following the lukewarm response to Retro and Kanguva, fans are hopeful that Karuppu will mark a strong comeback for Suriya. With its promising plot, stellar cast, and emotional undertone, the film is generating serious buzz.
The actor is also simultaneously working on a film with Venky Atluri featuring Mamita Baiju, making this a pivotal year in his career.
