Bellary: Kannada actor Darshan, who faces accusations in the Renukaswamy murder case, was transferred from Bengaluru to Bellary jail on Thursday. On Friday, he spent the day in a 10×6 feet special security room, designed to provide heightened protection.

According to prison officials, Darshan’s new accommodation offered minimal space and limited facilities, contributing to a monotonous day for the actor. To pass the time, Darshan brought along two books on spirituality, including the Lalita Sahasranama Shloka. The stringent security measures have constrained his access to personal comfort.

The day’s prison menu featured typical fare: uppittu for breakfast, followed by rice, sambar, and buttermilk for lunch, and chicken for dinner. Due to security protocols, Darshan’s family was unable to deliver homemade food packets, such as roti and groundnut powder, during their visit.

Darshan’s fans gathered at the Kanakadurga temple in Bellary, where they prayed for his well-being and an early release. In a gesture of devotion, one fan cracked a coconut and requested the jail authorities to deliver the worshipped saffron to Darshan. The presence of the actor prompted increased security at the jail to manage the large crowd and ensure order.

As Darshan’s stay in Bellary jail continues, the situation remains closely monitored amidst ongoing legal proceedings related to the murder case. The actor’s daily life in custody, combined with the public’s response and the intense security measures, highlights the significant attention this case has attracted.
