New Delhi: Apple has launched HomeView, its first smart home display in India, combining home automation controls, entertainment features and video calling in a single device. Priced at Rs 39,900, the new product features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, an upgraded Siri AI assistant and personalised experiences for different members of a household.

Pre-orders for Apple HomeView opened on October 13, 2026, through Apple’s online store and Apple Store app. The device is scheduled to go on sale from November 13. It will be available in four colours: silver, starlight, rose pink and space grey.

Apple is also offering a wall-mounted version for users who prefer to install the display in locations such as hallways and entryways. The product is designed to serve as a shared screen for families, bringing everyday information, entertainment and smart home controls into one place.

Apple HomeView brings AI-powered Siri to the home

One of the main features of HomeView is its redesigned Siri AI assistant. Apple says the updated voice assistant is designed to support more natural conversations and understand requests more effectively.

Users can ask questions, discover music and access information without having to pick up their iPhones. When paired with a compatible iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, Siri can also use personal context from apps such as Messages and Calendar to provide more relevant responses and help users complete tasks.

The display is intended to make common household activities easier by giving users a shared interface for information and connected devices. Rather than relying entirely on a smartphone, family members can interact with the display for everyday tasks.

Facial recognition supports personalised experiences

Apple HomeView can recognise up to six people using facial recognition. The device can then display a personalised Home Screen with individual apps and widgets for each recognised household member.

This allows different users to access information relevant to them, including messages, reminders and calendar entries, while sharing the same physical device.

Apple says personal information is displayed only when the recognised user is nearby and their paired iPhone or iPad is present and has been recently unlocked. The company says the device includes protections intended to keep personal information separate for each member of the household.

The personalised interface is designed to balance shared household use with individual access to information.

Video calling, music and entertainment features

HomeView also functions as an entertainment and communication device. Users can make FaceTime calls, send and reply to messages, listen to Apple Music and podcasts, and access supported video and audio applications.

The device includes a speaker system with two full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer and passive radiators. Apple says its computational audio technology adjusts sound output in real time to maintain sound quality at different volume levels.

Another feature is Handoff, which allows users to transfer music playing on an iPhone to HomeView by bringing the phone close to the display.

These capabilities make the device suitable for shared spaces where family members may want to listen to music, access entertainment or make video calls without using a separate phone or tablet for every task.

Smart home controls and camera feeds

HomeView is designed to act as a central control point for compatible smart home accessories. Users can control supported lights, thermostats, locks and blinds through the device.

It can also display live feeds from up to nine cameras simultaneously. This feature could help users check on pets, deliveries or activity around their homes from a single screen.

With compatible cameras and an iCloud+ subscription, HomeView can provide additional security-related features. These include alerts about familiar faces, pets, packages and vehicles.

The device can also detect the sounds of smoke or carbon monoxide alarms and send notifications to a compatible iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.

These functions expand HomeView beyond a conventional display, positioning it as an interface for managing connected home devices and monitoring selected activity around the house.

HomeView can assist with kitchen tasks

Apple has also designed HomeView to support everyday activities in the kitchen. Users can bring up recipes, follow step-by-step cooking instructions, set timers and manage ingredient tracking using voice commands.

Having a dedicated display in a kitchen or another shared area could allow users to follow instructions while carrying out other tasks. Voice-based controls also reduce the need to repeatedly interact with a smartphone.

The wall-mounted option gives users another way to position the device according to their household layout. Apple says compatible mounting options are sold separately, while the wall-mounted version retains the same display and core features.

Apple HomeView price and availability in India

Apple HomeView is priced at Rs 39,900 in India. Pre-orders began on October 13, 2026, through Apple’s online store and Apple Store app, while general availability is scheduled to begin on November 13.

The device comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space grey. It supports Apple’s Home ecosystem, including compatible Matter accessories and products from the company’s Apple Home Collection.

With its combination of a touchscreen display, AI-powered Siri, personalised user profiles, entertainment functions and smart home controls, HomeView brings several connected-home features into a single device.
