Facebook has announced a major redesign aimed at making the platform cleaner, less cluttered, and easier to navigate. The update brings a more immersive Feed, streamlined content creation tools, improved search results, and profile features designed to strengthen meaningful connections.

Simpler and more immersive Feed

Facebook says its redesigned Feed will highlight the photos, videos, and updates users care about most. Multiple-photo posts will now appear in a uniform grid, and users can “like” photos by double-tapping them. Clicking any post opens a full-screen view for a more immersive experience.

Navigation is also being streamlined. Key features such as Reels, Friends, Marketplace, and Profile will move to the main tab bar for quicker access. Facebook is also rolling out cleaner notifications and a refreshed menu layout.

Search results, too, will appear in an updated grid-style interface, supporting all content types. A new full-screen viewer is being tested to allow users to browse photos and videos without losing their place.

More control over what you see

Facebook says it wants users to have a bigger say in shaping their Feed. People can now report why they do not want to see certain posts or Reels, allowing the system to refine recommendations and reduce irrelevant content. The platform plans to introduce additional feedback tools in the coming months.

Easier Stories and post creation

The Story and Feed post creation tools have been redesigned with a cleaner interface and easier access to popular features such as:

  • adding music,
  • tagging friends,
  • colourful text backgrounds,
  • and audience controls.

Cross-posting options are now more visible, and distractions have been reduced so users can focus on crafting better posts.

Facebook has also improved its commenting experience across Feed, Groups, and Reels. The new design includes clearer reply threads, better badges, pinning tools, and enhanced moderation options for creators and group admins. Users can now anonymously flag comments that are irrelevant or inappropriate.

Profiles built for real connections

Facebook is updating profile features to help people find others with similar interests. When users update details — such as hobbies, travel plans, or entertainment preferences — the platform will surface friends who may offer relevant tips or share those interests.

The idea, Facebook says, is to help people “get to know each other on a deeper level” by highlighting shared passions and life updates. Users can choose what information to display and who can see it.

More updates coming in 2026

Facebook says these changes mark the beginning of a broader effort to make the platform easier, cleaner, and more personal. More updates will roll out through 2026.
