Google has introduced a new “Answer now option in the Gemini app, allowing users to receive responses instantly without waiting for the system’s full reasoning process to complete.
Skip the wait, get answers faster
The new option appears next to the loading indicator when users select Gemini’s Thinking or Pro models. By tapping “Answer now”, users can bypass the in-depth reasoning phase and get a reply almost immediately. The feature does not appear when using the Fast model.
Google clarified that even when users choose “Answer now”, the response is still generated using the same model originally selected, not by switching to a faster model in the background. This means the answer may differ from what Gemini’s Fast model would produce.
How the feature works
Previously, Gemini displayed a simple “skip” option while processing complex prompts. This has now been replaced with the clearer “Answer now” label. When tapped, users are informed that the system is skipping extended reasoning before delivering the response.
The feature is being rolled out across Android, iOS and the web, and is available to both free and paid Gemini users. In some cases on iOS, the wording may still reflect older terminology during the transition.
Changes to model limits
The update follows recent changes by Google to how daily prompt limits work for Gemini’s advanced models. Earlier, the Pro and Thinking models shared a combined quota, often causing confusion for users.
Under the revised system, limits are now model-specific. AI Pro subscribers get 300 prompts per day for the Thinking model and 100 for the Pro model, while AI Ultra subscribers receive higher caps of 1,500 and 500 prompts respectively.
Focus on flexibility and speed
With “Answer now”, Google appears to be balancing speed and depth, giving users more control over how quickly they want responses. The move reflects growing demand for flexible AI tools that adapt to both quick queries and deeper, more analytical tasks.
