In a major boost for Karnataka’s technology sector, the state government, in collaboration with the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission and the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association, launched the 4th edition of ‘Mysuru: The Big Tech Show 2024’ on Tuesday. The event also marked the debut of the Karnataka Electronics System Design and Manufacture (ESDM) Brand.

The highlight of the event was the India’s first-ever ESDM Tech Yatra, aimed at showcasing Mysuru’s potential to the ESDM industry and global tech leaders. Representatives from over 30 companies, including major players such as Global Foundry, Marvell, Schneider, Bosch, SLN Technologies, Aequs, and Tessolve, visited Mysuru to explore investment opportunities. This initiative is set to complement Bengaluru’s role as a global hub for electronics design and manufacturing.

IT Minister Priyank Kharge emphasized the state’s commitment to innovation, stating, “The launch of the Karnataka ESDM brand from Mysuru reflects our dedication to creating a thriving environment for technology and investment.” He revealed that over 20 ESDM companies, including Kaynes Technologies, AT&S, Wurth Electronik, and others, are set to invest close to Rs 600 crore in the region. Additionally, plans are underway to establish a 150-acre PCB cluster.

This strategic development underscores Karnataka’s ambition to become a global leader in the ESDM sector, fostering a collaborative and dynamic ecosystem.
