In a surprising event, a man from Achamangalam village in Tamil Nadu’s Thirupattur district discovered a five-foot deep gaping hole in his farmland, believed to be caused by a meteorite impact. Noticing heat emanating from the hole, the landowner promptly alerted the police and district officials.

Upon arrival, officials collected samples from the hole and surrounding area, sending them to Vellore and Chennai for further analysis. “It is a meteorite that has hit the ground, likely from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter,” stated District Science Officer Ravi. Additional samples will be sent to Ahmedabad for comprehensive examination.
