Bengaluru: Nothing has officially launched its much-anticipated Phone (3a) Community Edition in India, marking another milestone in the company’s Community Edition Project. This initiative invites creative talent to rethink devices in terms of design, software, and marketing, offering a unique blend of aesthetics and functionality. The 2025 Community Edition builds on the existing Phone (3a) platform while introducing fresh hardware, software, and packaging elements for a distinct user experience.
Frosted Teal design and exclusive UI customisations
The new edition comes in Frosted Teal, inspired by “playful tech gadgets of the ’90s,” featuring a colourful translucent back that stands out visually. Alongside the hardware changes, the Community Edition also introduces software and UI upgrades. It includes a custom clock face with multiple fonts and an exclusive wallpaper available in four colour variants—two shades of blue and two shades of purple.
The design and UI updates aim to provide a more personalised experience while staying true to Nothing’s ethos of blending creativity with technology.
Core specifications remain robust
Under the hood, the Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition shares specifications with the original Phone (3a). It sports a 6.77-inch flexible AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals for daily use and gaming. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, offering a balanced performance profile for most users.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the triple rear camera setup: a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The front-facing camera is a 32MP shooter, catering to selfies and video calls. The phone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 50W wired fast charging, promising a full day of usage even under intensive workloads.
Limited edition, premium pricing
Nothing has announced that the Community Edition will be produced in a limited run of just 1,000 units globally, making it a collector’s item for enthusiasts. Only a single storage variant—12GB RAM + 256GB storage—is available, priced at ₹28,999.
In India, the device will be available from 13 December 2025 via a special drop event in Bengaluru, continuing Nothing’s strategy of building hype around limited edition releases and community-driven engagement.
Conclusion
The Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition combines striking design with robust performance, catering to fans of the brand and tech enthusiasts looking for a unique smartphone experience. Its limited availability ensures exclusivity, while the creative design elements highlight Nothing’s commitment to blending innovation with personalisation.
