On November 27, Karnataka’s Information Technology and Biotechnology Minister, Priyank Kharge, praised NTT DATA’s acquisition of Udupi-based Niveus Solutions, describing it as a significant achievement for the state’s tech ecosystem. Kharge highlighted that the deal reflects Karnataka’s growing technological strength and underscores the success of the state’s “Beyond Bengaluru” initiative, which aims to promote innovation in smaller regions outside the capital city.
NTT DATA, a major player in the Japanese tech industry, acquired Niveus Solutions for an undisclosed sum. This acquisition brings nearly 1,000 Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experts specializing in cloud modernization, data engineering, and AI, boosting the company’s capabilities in offering transformative cloud solutions across diverse sectors.
Kharge pointed out that this is the second time a Japanese tech giant has bought a company from Udupi, the first being Technopro’s acquisition of Robosoft Tech in 2021. This highlights Udupi’s emerging role as a key hub for tech talent and innovation.
The acquisition showcases global trust in Karnataka’s growing pool of skilled professionals and signals that innovation is thriving not only in Bengaluru but also in smaller tech clusters across the state. The deal positions NTT DATA to better meet the rising global demand for advanced cloud engineering solutions.
